For your convenience, you may submit a volunteer application through the link at the bottom of this page. Learn more about our volunteer opportunities at our Volunteer Orientations, normally the first Thursday of every month from 5:30-6:30 pm at the CAP office. Upcoming orientations are August 7 and September 11.

Volunteer Orientations and AIDS 101s are held on the first Thursday of every month from 5:00-8:00 p.m. E-mail RuJ@coloradoaidsproject.org to sign up for AIDS 101.

We welcome college students or high school seniors who need educational community service learning hours for credits toward graduation.

We DO NOT have any court-ordered community service positions at this time.

Attention Regis University Students! We have positions for Work Study students in our Food Bank,Reception Desk,and Employment Center for the Academic Year. Students must be able to work one or two days per week during food bank or reception desk hours.

Interested students who are approved for work-study should:

  1. Email a resume to AthenaL@coloradoaidsproject.org or complete a volunteer application online at http://www.coloradoaidsproject.org/volunteerform-for-email.aspx and include any relevant work/volunteer experience in the comments section.
  2. Attend the new volunteer orientation at CAP.
  3. Qualified applicants will be invited to interview for a position.

Upcoming Events

Charlie's Denver Carnival and Show fundraiser for CAP. Sunday, September 28, 2008 11-8 pm. Show at 9:00 p.m at Charlie's Denver. (Colfax at Emerson)

The Carnival runs from 11-8pm and the live show begins at 9 pm. Various tasks include set up, silent auction, raffle ticket sales, auction help, clean up, and more.
The shifts are flexible-2 hours to all afternoon and evening. Volunteers get free admission to the show and some free drink tickets. Must be 21+ after 7 pm.

Saturday, October 4-Carousel Ball at 7 pm. Carousel Ball, sponsored by BJ's Carousel Tavern is a live talent and drag show. All funds raised from Carousel Ball and other shows throughout the year benefit the CAP Food Bank. The event will be held at the 4 Points Sheraton Hotel Ballroom, located at Hampden and I-25.
All volunteers get free admission to the event.
Volunteers needed:
8 for set up 2-6 pm
8 for auction/raffle tickets 5:30-11 pm
2 for spot light operation 7-11 pm
Training for auction volunteers will be held on-site at 5:30 prior to doors opening.

CAP is starting a Positive Speakers resource crew. CAP is seeking HIV positive individuals from a variety of backgrounds who are willing to share their story publicly.

Ongoing volunteer opportunities

The following opportunities require a regular time commitment during normal business hours. New volunteers are required to attend our Customer Service Training (offered quarterly) prior to volunteering.

Food Bank
Volunteers assist clients with weekly shopping in our Food Bank, which is open Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and Fridays from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m.-Noon.

Food Bank Delivery Drivers Drivers wanted to deliver groceries to clients twice a month on Saturday mornings. Must have reliable vehicle, valid Colorado Driver's license and insurance.


MSM Outreach:
We need several young male volunteers to go to area bars. This is a way to promote a new 'safe sex' website and to integrate the site into the community.
