Since 1988 the Southern Colorado AIDS Project has been providing supportive and safety-net services to low-income individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS. Our programs are designed to increase stability — both physical and mental — and access to care, while simultaneously working to eliminate the spread of HIV/AIDS through prevention programs and community outreach.
Despite the many gains that have been made, an HIV diagnosis still carries a tremendous amount of stigma, which is often compounded by issues of sexual orientation, poverty, homelessness, injection drug use/substance abuse and mental illness. The Southern Colorado AIDS Project has created a non-judgmental environment where diverse and often disenfranchised populations can feel safe and comfortable accessing services
