Hundreds of volunteers are needed to make the Rocky Mountain Region’s largest single-day AIDS fundraiser a success! This is a terrific opportunity for families, youth, teams and groups! Various areas include:

  • Checkpoints: Distribute water and other items to the runners and walkers and cheer them as they pass the checkpoints.
  • First Aid: Administer first aid for minor injuries or health concerns and collaborate with professional medical staff. (must have Colorado medical, nurse or paramedic license)
  • Incentives: Track and hand out T-shirts and other rewards to fundraising participants.
  • AIDS Memorial Quilt: Set up & take down quilt panels, maintain respectful environment, provide information about quilt.
  • Radio Base: Maintain vital communications between staff, monitor all radio traffic ensure FCC compliance
  • Route Monitors: Ensure the safety of all the participants along the route, motivate and cheer on all walkers and runners
  • Route Logistics: Unload all barricades and supplies along the route, pick up all barricades and supplies immediately following the walkers.
  • Runner Finish Line: Pull the timing tags of runners as they complete the course.
  • Runner Registration: Check-in all runners, distribute bags and secure their personal belongings during the run.
  • Run Timers: Call out split times for runners as they pass mile markers
  • Teams and Sponsor Expo Area: Serve as welcoming crew for teams and sponsors, help set-up and break-down tables, chairs, supplies
  • Traffic Control: Secure the roads into the park, maintain the barricades, and assist with drive-on for vendors, teams and volunteers
  • Venue Set up: (Friday, Sept. 5) Set up all the areas around the park, unload trucks, move and distribute supplies
  • Venue Strike: Take down all the areas around the park, pack up all supplies, help load into trucks
  • Volunteer Sign In: Welcome and check in all the volunteers, distribute T-shirts and breakfast
  • Walker Finish Line: Distribute water and other items to the walkers and cheer them as they cross the finish line.
  • Walker Registration Check-in: all the walkers as they turn in their pledge forms
